22 oktober 2026 – Mike Pisani & Pieter Boeykens Deze lezing belicht de technologische sprong voorwaarts van de Gentse motorenbouwer Anglo Belgian Cooperation. De focus ligt op de innovatieve ‘Evolve’ motorfamilie, die ontworpen is om tegemoet te komen aan de strengere emissienormen en de energietransitie. De sprekers bespreken hoe deze motoren efficiëntie combineren met brandstofflexibiliteit voor maritieme en industriële toepassingen. Een unieke blik achter de schermen bij een wereldspeler van eigen bodem.
The influence of coatings and their application on Corrosion resistance in ballast tanks (AMA)
26 november 2026 – Remke Willemen Ballasttanks vormen een kritiek onderdeel van de scheepsstructuur, maar zijn uiterst gevoelig voor corrosie door de constante blootstelling aan zeewater. Remke Willemen, hoofd onderwijs van de Antwerp Maritime Academy/Hogere Zeevaartschool belicht in deze presentatie haar doctoraatsonderwerp die ze openbaar verdedigde op 17 december 2025.
Bouw van de Scheldetunnel (Lantis)
25 februari 2027 – Lantis Als spilfiguur in de Oosterweelverbinding is de Scheldetunnel een van de meest complexe civieltechnische projecten in de regio. Tijdens deze lezing worden de technische uitdagingen van de tunnelbouw onder de rivier uitgebreid toegelicht, van het zinken van de tunnelelementen tot de logistieke operatie. De impact op de Antwerpse mobiliteit en de innovatieve bouwmethodes staan hierbij centraal. Een boeiende uiteenzetting over een infrastructuurwerk dat de kaart van Antwerpen zal hertekenen.
Mangaanknollen: Schatten van de zeebodem (tbc)
25 maart 2027 – nog te confirmeren De diepzee herbergt enorme voorraden mineralen die essentieel zijn voor de groene revolutie, waaronder mangaanknollen. Hierbij wordt niet alleen gekeken naar de economische potentie, maar ook naar de ecologische impact en de nodige technologische innovaties. Een fascinerende verkenning van een nieuwe grens in de mijnbouwsector.
